These Roasted Cabbage Burgers are a delicious low-carb, keto-friendly alternative to traditional burgers! Instead of buns, we use thick roasted cabbage rounds that turn golden, slightly caramelized, and full of flavor. Ingredients:

For the Cabbage “Buns”

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

For the Burger Patties

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or turkey)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan (optional, for extra flavor)

Toppings (Customize!):

  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • 4 tbsp sugar-free ketchup or mustard
  • 4 tbsp mayo or garlic aioli
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • Pickles, lettuce, or avocado (optional)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Roast the Cabbage “Buns”

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice cabbage into 1-inch thick rounds (like burger buns).
  • Brush with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Roast for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and slightly crispy.

2️⃣ Make the Burger Patties

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and parmesan.
  • Shape into 4 burger patties.
  • Cook in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side (or to your preferred doneness).
  • Add cheese on top during the last minute to melt.

3️⃣ Assemble the Burgers

  • Place a roasted cabbage round as the bottom “bun.”
  • Add the burger patty, toppings, and sauces of your choice.
  • Top with another cabbage round and serve warm!
